Hi, I'm Benjamin, a Game Developer focusing on Technical Design, and Gameplay Systems Programming.
I am based in Rome, Italy. I'm open to work Remotely, Relocating, or for Hybrid opportunities.
I've been making games ever since before high school, starting tinkering in Unity out of pure curiosity. Over the years, that passion evolved into a deep interest in how games work under the hood, from structural systems to how players interact with mechanics. Today i express that interest trough using what i learned, applying it into practice.
Education:
[2017 - 2022] Technical high school Diploma in Computer Science (100/100)
[2022 - Present] Bachelors in Computer Science at Sapienza University of Rome.
Experience
IT Systems & Operations support (Remote) [2023 - Present ]: Managed remote IT solutions, database queries, and reporting tools for retail operators. Interfaced Directly with staff to gather feature requests, prioritize issues, and implement practical workflow improvements
Languages: English (Fluent), Italian (Fluent), Hungarian (Native)
My workflow is centered on scalable architecture, clean object-oriented design, and developer-facing APIs.
Weather i work as a dedicated Technical Design, Systems Programming, or Game Design role, my core objective is making complex systems maintainable, extensible, and inherently fun to build upon!
As a Technical Designer: I build modular, safe, and intuitive frameworks. By segregating core gameplay logic from engine dependencies, I build self-documenting APIs and tools that allow designers and programmers to implement new features rapidly, without breaking underlying systems or needing deep knowledge of the core codebase.
As a Game Designer: I design mechanics through systemic interaction and analysis of player behavior. Rather than designing features in isolation, I study the existing game structures, consider progression pacing, and evaluate mechanics based on player agency. I am willing to kill thematic ideas, if they invalidate core gameplay loops or create (unintended) frustration.
As a Systems / Software Programmer: I write clean, decoupled and robust object oriented frameworks. I prioritize code maintainability, strict encapsulation, and clean software architecture.
Production & Tooling Leadership: Having created frameworks and handed them off to junior developers, I design systems specifically with end-users in mind. I observe how others interact with my code and documentation, to continuously refine APIs for clarity and usability.
Focusing on Technical design, in this project I show my skills in creating dynamic and scalable systems, how I understand game design principles, and give proof of my capacity in documentation.
